Question by Teresia: How do i get the stains out of my motorhome fridge?
I have tried everything and cannot get the stains out of the fridge.
I’m not sure what the stain is from, it looks like rust. I have tried clr and bleach with no luck. I have not tried vinegar. The parts are not removable.

Not knowing exactly what stained the fridge is kind of hard to determine what ingredients will work on it. have you tried a mixture of a commercial cleaner with bleach? did you test with powder ajax, vinegar, baking soda and even with nail polish remover? Is the stain located on a removable plastic part of the fridge? Do you know what caused the stain? Is it rust?

Try again, scrub gently let sit the mixture for a few minutes. then rinse and repeat. Good Luck!

Have you tried CLR (calcium, lime, rust) cleaner? That stuff is amazing for getting tough stains out. Smells yucky when using it though, so be careful.

@seminar6 sometimes people try to invent the wheel, when it has been invented long time ago. The first thing to do (even more nowadays with the internet) is to get informed before doing anything. I have my van fitted with a waeco 12v fridge (no gas option). A 1m solar panel on my roof and 2 extra gel bateries. Fridge is connected ALL YEAR!!! and haven got any problems yet (5 years so far). Before that i had gas/12v/220v fridges and this one works the same.

Thanks for the nice comment. The electrics in the van were designed for day / weekend use (no mains hookup) or two week family holidays on a campsite (mains hooked up). Charging for the batteries is via the Solar panel, Mains Charger and a 50 amp B2B charger from the engine (charges the batteries when driving). It all works perfectly as designed but you are right it would be no good for extended wild camping, where you did not drive anywhere. Regards, Colin.

Excellent job there…the only thing i will say is….that the 12v fridge will just about last for 2 days parked up somewhere,…it will then cease to operate …fit a 3 way fridge…mains electric/generator….gas…then as a last resort or for a days use..12v power.

I use a Khyam awning, it reaches the gutter, but this means its not wide enough to cover the whole sliding door when its opened. This is a compromise if the wether is not so good. Hope this helps.
