Cheap sealed leisure battery?s are a must due to VAT hikes and other increases

Caravan owners face VAT hikes, and other additional expenses, making it essential to shop around for cheap caravan batteries, boat battery’s and motorhome battery’s for your recreational vehicle.

At the moment people who own caravans currently benefit from VAT free water and sewage bills. This tax exemption currently applies to around 300,000 people living in the Uk, but this will be stopped in January next year.

The change is legislation will be made to comply with EU regulations. It’s predicted that the change will cost each caravan owner an additional £100 per year, collectively raking in a staggering £3 million for HM Revenue and Customs.

Bills for water and sewage, as well as the connection costs to utilities are also currently zero rated for caravans, but this too will end next year- further bumping up the cost of owning a caravan.

A spokesperson speaking on behalf of the holiday industry has said that the changes to these laws are an unwelcome change that will burden the industry with more extra costs.

However, the government has dismissed this and has said that until now caravan owners have simply had a fortunate break, and that they will now have to pay the same bills as everybody else.

People who either own, or are looking to buy boats too will be affected by these changes. Boats which are bought by residents of the UK for use outside of the European Union will also be hit with the VAT charge. Only boats which are taken to the non-EU destination by the manufacturer will escape the additional charges.

Most luxury yachts are purchased in this way, in that they are bought and sailed to their destination by the owner; this will no longer be allowed, unless the full VAT price is paid at the time of the sale.

The owners of leisure vehicles may also be hit with even more charges if the government gives the proposed green taxes the go ahead.

The spokesman for the holiday industry is hopeful that these rising costs will not put a put people off of purchasing or holidaying in caravans, motor homes and other recreational vehicles.

Katie Price wants a pink caravan!

Katie Price, otherwise known as Jordan has told the press that she is a massive fan of the hit TV show ‘My big fat gypsy wedding’ and wants to add a pink caravan and suitable leisure batteries to her collection of pink recreational vehicles.

Katie Price, aka Jordan has admitted that she is a huge fan of the popular Channel 4 documentary series ‘My big fat gypsy wedding’ which was broadcasted earlier this year.

She said ‘I do like Big Fat Gypsy Weddings. It’s got Katie Price written all over it. The big dresses, the big cakes, the outfits the girls wore when they were younger – that’s a bit of me in there. ‘They even used the carriage I used when I married Pete. I think I’d fit in very well with them.’

She also told a tabloid newspaper ‘They can get me a pink caravan if they like – to add to my pink collection. I’ve already got two pink horseboxes, and there’s another one coming this May with Swarovski crystals inside.’ Let’s hope Jordan has her leisure batterys at the ready for her new pink caravan, so that she can show it off to her adoring public as soon as possible.

Who knows, her and her new boyfriend, model Leandro Penna who things seem to be going exceedingly well with may even set off on their honeymoon in the new pink caravan after tying the knot.

Katie recently uploaded a series of pics onto the social networking site Twitter along with the caption ‘Es todo un tierno. Lo amo,’ which translates roughly to ‘It’s all tender. I love him.’

Everyone I have ever known with one of those big ones tells me they get 4-6 miles MPG. Except for one old guy who claims 8, but we think he is lying as some old guys do.

Caravans Australia – Things to consider when buying a new or used caravan

Anyone that considers purchasing a new or used caravan for sale should have some things in mind before buying it and after that before going for your first vacation with your friends or your family. There aren’t too many things to think about when buying caravans Australia, where manufacturers offer deals but it would be useful if you just write down some stuff and questions you should ask your seller before you commit to this sale. This list making has proved to be quite useful in a number of decision making situations.

Before you buy any caravan used or new, always be aware how much the towing capability is of your vehicle. It is absolutely futile to buy a brand new, fully equipped caravans, that will go nowhere because your car can not tow it. You will just have to have a vacation in your back yard, and that is not something you would like.

It is always useful to have a professional by your side when making a decision about investing your money in something new.

That is the case with new or used Caravans For Sale. If you are new at buying caravans, find and bring an experienced caravan user or a professional that will accompany you to the dealership and help you make the best decision. This person will certainly prove to be helpful when assessing the caravan and will help you get a better pricing on it, or better equipment along with it. He/She will certainly know what you will really need when camping.

It is extremely important to assess the condition that the used caravan is in at the moment of sale thus deciding whether to buy or not. You should be especially careful about dumps.

If the caravan has leaks, turn your back and walk away since this fault is something you will spend a lot of money to repair and your family will definitely not like a vacation in that kind of a caravan.

Also before you buy you should consider several other things, like the caravan driving regulations in your country and if you are qualified to do that or not. Additionally have a specialist to take a look at the inner caravan electric installations to be certain that everything is functional and that for example your fridge will not go off in the middle of nowhere and get all your food to go bad. Before you go on a trip with your caravan, see that you have a professional to install your towing bar, it should be properly installed not to break any regulations and to meet the highest levels of security. Some say that it is probably best that you try and spend one night in the caravan so you will test its comfort and all the things you might need and you have not considered, before you take the vacation. Just move the family into the caravan for one night, right in your back yard.

All Caravans Australia dealerships do provide regular service so your caravan should be serviced regularly just like cars. The frequency is usually defined by regulations. And again if you have sufficient information it is safe to assess and buy a caravan by yourself. Otherwise always have a professional by your side helping you make the right decision.

Static caravan holiday home vs tourer caravan: Which should you buy?

Although they may share a similar name, most people can spot straight away that touring caravans and static caravans (often referred to as holiday homes) are very different beasts. Whilst one is designed as an affordable way to have a holiday home in a single desirable UK location, the other is a great value way to enjoy holidays all around the UK and Europe.

For most of us a traditional ‘bricks and mortar’ holiday home just isn’t financially possible, so a static caravan holiday home acts as the next best thing, and at a fraction of the cost. Plus with new models often coming fitted with flat screen TV’s, central heating, domestic style bathrooms and kitchens, plus modern fixtures, fittings and furniture, many would argue that it’s hard to tell the difference!

It’s true that statics offer a very high level of comfort and a ‘home away from home’ feeling that is hard to replicate in a touring caravan, no matter how high the specification may be.

Static caravans give you the opportunity to relax in familiar surroundings and have everything you need close to hand, no airports, no queues, no hassle.

Statics are also much less ‘hands on’ than tourers as they don’t require you to un-hitch the caravan and setup camp so to speak, just turn up, put the kettle on and relax!

However, the fundamental flaw (or benefit depending on your viewpoint) with a static caravan is that you don’t have the option to try a new location each time you want to go on holiday, unlike a tourer caravan which gives you unlimited options when it comes to destination choices.

When caravanners are asked “Why do you like holidaying in a touring caravan?” one of the most common replies will always include the word “Freedom”.

And that’s a great indicator of why many people love caravanning, it gives you the freedom to go away on a whim and to try out new locations whenever you feel like it, without having to spend a fortune. It’s that level of choice and independence that is the main advantage a touring caravan has over a static caravan holiday home.

The way in which you buy a touring caravan or static caravan holiday home is also very different. Generally a static will be purchased through the park owner, so you may be limited to what they offer.
Obviously tourers are very different, and are generally sold through specialist dealerships which can be found throughout the UK.

However, a good opportunity to view holiday homes and touring caravans in one place is at the various caravan trade shows, particularly the ‘Caravan Extravaganza’ trade show held in September at The Lawns in Cottingham (near Hull), and the ‘International Caravan & Motorhome’ show held at the NEC in Birmingham during October (dates change slightly every year so check online).

Of course if you are looking at statics you need to bear in mind the park you want the unit to be sited on, and either purchase through the park or ask if you can purchase that particular caravan and then have it sited. Every park is different so check with the park operator before committing to buy.

It’s also worth remembering that static caravans can be rented for a week’s holiday at locations throughout the UK, many of which also have units for sale, so why not try before you buy and see if a static is right for you?

Caravans are available for rent from a limited number of companies in the UK, but many caravan insurance policies will allow for ‘friends and family use’ so why not see if you can borrow one for a weekend instead?

Caravan Guard Limited is the UK specialist in touring caravan insurance. Sister company Leisuredays specialise in static caravan insurance and park home insurance

Question by Kate D: How do you remove a spare tire from the bottom of a 1997 Dodge caravan?
I’ve read the manuals and searched the internet, but I still can’t manage to get the spare tire off the bottom of the car. Are there any tricks that I’m missing? Please help.

Best answer:

Answer by Evan
The spare tire on the caravan is locked into place on the bottom of the van by 5 lugnuts and a spring loaded locking device. Sipmly remove the 5 lugnuts with a tire iron, then pull down to attempt to release the tire. It will come down an inch or so. That will allow you to sneak your hand up and press the latch that will release the tire from it’s holding place.

good luck

93. Islawrffordd caravan park in Talybont
Caravan

Wednesday 12 July

The weather forecast on Wednesday promised a day filled with sunshine, so we decided to walk south along the beach from the caravan park at Talybont down towards Barmouth, four miles away. Low tide was at about 3.30pm so we were looking forward to wide sandy expanses!

On the way back we visited Harlech Castle which was fun and informative.

A week in Wales – July 2011

When we were walking along the beach near Skegness in Lincolnshire a couple of months ago, we passed a mobile home park and Bethan said that she would really, really like to have a holiday in a caravan.

As we had nothing planned for the summer, and our daughter’s wish is our command (it would have been a different story if she had requested the Taj Exotica Resort in the Maldives) , we booked a week, courtesy of Hoseasons, at the Barmouth Bay Holiday Park in Talybont, Gwynedd. All we asked for was a week of reasonably decent weather.

Our wishes were granted and apart from rain from about 3.00pm on the final afternoon we enjoyed a dry week, ranging from quite cloudy on the first morning to gloriously sunny at the end of the week!

With this simple Skyrim exploit you can easily get as much gold as you need. It requires that the Kajit caravan is in Dawnstar (North side of map). If they are not just wait around until they turn up. • Find the secret chest as shown in the video. • Wait for 48 hours • Ask the kajit what they have for sale to reset the chest • Go empty the chest again! • Rinse & repeat for infinite gold. Enjoy ;)

Caravans For Hire – Hints and Tips on Hiring Out Your Caravan

If you are a first time caravan owner or are planning on purchasing your first caravan with the intention of renting it out, hopefully these hints and tips will come in useful!

Getting Booking: The internet is a very powerful tool, so bare that in mind, it’s easy to think that newspaper advertising in the best option, however many peoples first port of call when looking to hire a caravan (or book a holiday) is the the internet, and with many websites offering affordable and effective advertising, it’s well worth utilising this option, even if you do also decide to advertise in your local newspaper.

Equipping You New Caravan: It is common practice for caravan owners to equip their caravans with all the latest mod cons, this gives their visitors a real homely feel. If in doubt about what you should include ask other owners or do some research online.

The more features and homely comforts you offer the more likely you are to get bookings.

Get All Bookings Confirmed In Writing: Whilst it may well be quicker and easier to confirm bookings via email or telephone, this doesn’t provide you with adequate protections in the case of a dispute, so make should you have all the relevant paperwork ready for your guests to sign, in this paperwork clearly state your full terms and conditions, don’t worry that your terms and conditions may put potential guests off, most will see that you are simply looking after your property, which is of course a good thing, if you do ever come across any potential guests who are reluctant to agree to your terms and conditions then you should ask yourself do I really want them staying in my property?

Maintenance: You may be planning on look after your caravan yourself, however it’s still well worth checking to see if this is a service offered either by other owners on the park or by the park itself, just in case at any stage you find yourself unable to to so yourself.

Potential Guests: Don’t be afraid to be overly cautious, if you have an enquiry and you feel that you are possibly being mislead in anyway (i.e number of people, age of people etc), then don’t feel awkward asking questions, if after doing so you still are unsure then it’s best to go with your gut instinct, yes it may mean turning down a booking, but it’s better to be safe than sorry and chances are that you will get another booking anyway, especially if it’s in high season, however even if you don’t it’s got to be better having a week free than potentially having your property damaged.

Summary: Hiring out your caravan can be a great way of gaining additional income just be well prepared upfront!
